Homemade Pop Tarts

I found this recipe from www.bakemore.com and altered it just a touch to make it even more amazing! I like making my kids a "fun friday" breakfast, so this was a big hit for todays fun! Easy to make and they are truelly amazing! I can't wait to make them again!
Homemade Pop Tarts

2 Pie crusts (one box), refrigerated or homemade
Jam, nutella, peanut butter, whatever floats your pop tart/boat
Glaze or Egg Wash
Sparkling Sugar

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Unroll one of the pie crusts (that are room temp)and use a rolling pin to press it just a bit, then square the edges. Cut into rectangles. Place 1 Tblsp of jam or your choice of filling, in the center of a rectangle and top with another piece of crust. Crimp all four edges with a fork. If the edges dont seal with your fork then you can also use just a touch of water on your finger tip to run accross the inside edges and stick the top layer on, then crimp with fork. Repeat until all of the pie crust is used. I also took the rounded edges that I cut off and rolled them together to form more pop-tarts.

Bake the pop-tarts for about 7 – 8 minutes or until slightly golden brown. Once cool, pour glaze over and decorate with sugar. If you don’t want to add extra sugar with the glaze, you can use an egg wash on the tops with some white sugar.

To Make the Glaze:

1 cup powder sugar
milk to thin
Place powdered sugar in bowl. Pour milk slowly until it has a consistency of really thick syrup.
