Chocolate-Peanut Butter Torte
If the picture just looks like decadent rich chocolate, well that's all you needed to see anyway! This is an easy cake to make but super rich and delish! I usually double or triple my glaze because I like a lot!
<Chocolate-Peanut Butter Torte
Cake:1 pckge devils food cake mix
4 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
4 Tbsp mayonnaise
2 Eggs
1 c unsweetened applesauce
Glaze:
1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate morsels
4 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
4 Tbsp caramel ice cream topping
4 Tbsp creamy peanut butter, divided
Preheat oven to 350. Spray baking 9x13 pan lightly with cooking oil spray. Whisk cake mix and cocoa powder. Add mayo, eggs and applesauce; whisk until well blended. Pour batter into pan. Bake 22-25 minutes or until cake tester in center comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool 5 minutes. Remove from pan, cover with kitchen towel to keep moist and allow to completely cool.
For glaze, combine chocolate morsels, whipping cream, ice cream topping and 2 Tblsp of peanut butter and microwave 1 min until smooth. Set aside. Place remaining peanut butter in small bowl and microwave 20 sec until melted and smooth; set aside.
To assemble torte, cut cake in half crosswise to form two equal layers. Carefully place one layer on top of the other and trim to match edges. Place one layer onto serving plate. Spread half of the glaze over the bottom layer allowing to drip glaze down sides. Top with second cake layer and repeat with remaining glaze. Drizzle with melted peanut butter and swirl into glaze using knife.
EnJOY!
