Caramel Chocolate Bars

This is a pampered chef recipe that I had to try and so glad I did. Easy to make and so good! How can you go wrong with caramel and chocolate!

Caramel Chocolate Bars


1 cup quick or old fashioned oats
1 cup flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ cup butter, melted
1 pckge caramel candies, unwrapped (14oz)
2 Tbsp heavy whipping cream
1 cup milk chocolate morsels

Preheat oven to 350. Combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda and salt in a bowl, mix well. Add butter; mix until crumbly. Press crumb mixture onto bottom of ungreased 9x13 baking dish. Bake 20-22 minutes or until light golden brown.
Place caramels and cream in bowl into microwave, 1-3 minut4es or until melted and smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Pour over hot crust; carefully spread to edges. Let stand 10 minutes or until caramel is set. Cut dessert lengthwise into 4-8 rows, depending on how small you want your bars.
Place chocolate morsels in a small plastic zip lock bag. Microwave 1-2 minutes, checking every 30 seconds. Cut the very tip of the corner of the bag and pipe a continual loop of chocolate dwon each row. Let stand until chocolate is set. Cut rows crosswise. EnJOY!
