Biscuits and Gravy

Ok this recipe may seem like a lot of work but its super easy. This is my favorite biscuit and gravy recipe! I also cheat with my biscuits using bisquick and the recipe on the box. 2 1/4 c. bisquick and 2/3 c. milk, mix and bake at 450 for 8 minutes. I also just mix the bisquick and drop onto a pan, not shaping them or taking the time to fuss over them since the real star is the gravy!

Biscuits and Gravy
1 (12oz) package tube hot pork sausage
1 package center cut bacon
4 Tblsp flour
4 c. milk (I like to use half and half to make creamier)
black pepper to taste
1 tsp garlic powder

Heat large skillet over med-high heat. Add sausage, break up with wooden spoon and cook, stirring occasionally until well browned. Using slotted spoon, transfer sausage into a bowl, leaving the rendered fat in skillet. Cook bacon until browned and crisp, remove from skillet and set on paper towel. You should have about 4 tblsp of grease, remove extra. Whisk in flour and cook, stirring for about 1-2 minutes. While whisking, pour the milk into skillet and bring gravy to boil. Add pepper and garlic powder. Lower heat and simmer for 4 minutes until thickened. You can add another Tblsp of flower if it is too thin, add milk if too thick. Stir in sausage and add in bacon that is crumbled. Serve over biscuits that are split in half, spoon gravy ontop.
EnJOY!
