Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie
This is a pampered Chef recipe that is my hubbies favorite. He begs me to make it for his birthday and any other occasion he can talk me into it. It is very easy to make, it may seem like a lot of steps but they are all easy and goes quickly.
Black Bottom Banana Cream Pie(pampered chef)
1 graham pre-made pie crust
1 container (12oz) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
1 pckge (6oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups cold milk
1 pckge (5.1oz) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling
½ tsp vanilla extract
2 medium bananas sliced
Place 1 ½ cups of the whipped topping and chocolate chips in microwave for 30-45 seconds; stir until smooth. Remove 2 Tblsp of the chocolate mixture to a small zip lock baggy for later. Spread remaining chocolate mixture over bottom of pie crust. Place crust in freezer while preparing pudding.
-Pour milk into bowl and add pudding and vanilla extract; whisk 1 minute until mix begins to thicken. Fold in 1 ½ cups of the whipped topping.
-Slice 1 ½ bananas; arrange slices over chocolate mixture in crust. Spread pudding mixture over bananas. Refrigerate 30 minutes.
-To garnish pie, cut small tip off corner of plastic bag filled with chocolate mixture. Squeeze chocolate over pie in decorate design. You can also top with a dollop of whipped cream and remaining slices of bananas.
